ALAGAPPA & CO was established in  1940 at the famous temple city of India- MADURAI which was later shifted  to the headquarters of Chettinadu Region KARAIKUDI  and opened by the great philanthropist Vallal Dr.RM.ALAGAPPA CHETTIAR in  1947. Initially  we carried out our business as a General Merchant in Madurai and then as  a distributor in KARAIKUDI for the leading companies. The renowned companies such as TT.KRISHNAMACHARI & CO(WOODWARDS GRIPE WATER),BRITANIA BISCUITS,HORLICKS,GUJARAT CO-OPERATIVE MILK MARKETING FEDERATION LTD(AMULSPRAY & AMULYA),MANGALORE GANESH BEEDI WORKS  appointed us as distributors for old Ramnad district and later for Sivaganga district.The special feature is that all the FMCG products are available under  one roof  in ALAGAPPA & CO.

We do our business in quality products with low margin and but with best service to our valued  customers. Through this continuous service to our customers in the field, we have built  our GOODWILL .In  2002 the leading public sector  company  BSNL has selected us as Franchisee for entire SIVAGANGA DISTRICT to distribute all the products of BSNL.In this regard our achievement is that  we have done our distribution business equal to Metro cities and earned  a good name (ANNAMALAYAR CELLULAR SERVICE,KARAIUKDI AND SREE ANNAMALAYAR CELLULAR SERVICE,SIVAGANGA) in the  circle office at Chennai as well as Corporate office at New Delhi. Now  with the patronage of our valued customers,our third  generation has entered into this business.

        After a long and distinguished experience in distribution net work for the past 81 years we have ventured  into a manufacturing line that too in Food Products.For this we have selected the Chettinadu Heritage Food of “IDIYAPPAM”( Rice Noodles).In Chettinadu there is no function without the food item either in the break fast or at the dinner  “IDIYAPPAM” . We have started the production during JANUARYl’2011 in the famous brand name of  “ANNAMALAY BRAND” Named as “SREE ANAMALAYAR FOOD PRODUCTS”.  We have penetrated into  every nook and corner of the  towns and have better placement with all small & big retailers with our own GOODWILL.
